LIDEWIJ DE VOS SUCCEEDS THIERRY BAUDET
AS LIST LEADER OF FORUM FOR DEMOCRACY

Dr. Baudet remains second on the list in the House of Representatives..

My reaction

I read this news in the week of August 25, 2025. Initially, there was a wave of disappointment. Dr. Baudet's vision is head and shoulders above the other members of the House of Representatives. I felt it was a success for his slanderers, who have been silencing him for years at the behest of the financial elite. His choice of his successor, as well as that of his current comrades in Parliament, Gideon van Meijeren and Pepijn van Houwelingen, once again demonstrates that sound vision.
Because we know each other well, I wrote to him:

Nieuwegein, 2025 08 30.

Dear Thierry,

Your decision to let Lideweij take your place may be tactically sound - I'm not a tactical thinker - and not a disaster for you personally, but as a philosopher, I consider it a defeat for common sense.
I still remember our conversation in Amsterdam at the time, along with several other FvD members. You asked me to educate you on climate and energy supply. My argument was met with resistance from the tacticians. It would cost you votes. You skyrocketed in my esteem when, after a brief discussion and to my surprise - there were other politicians with whom I had discussed this at the time - you resolutely decided to combat the CO2 hunt, as well as the thoughtless energy stransition.

You maintained my absolute top qualifications as an administrator (legislator) throughout the years in virtually all your parliamentary positions. With the coronavirus, nitrogen, and the EU and WEF threats as additional pillars of support for that position. When you also blamed the Ukraine tragedy on John Foster Dulles's "roll back" ideas, you rose even further above that peak. Even though I wouldn't call Putin my friend. (I'm not fond of people who kill people.) He's more of a fellow victim of that damned imperialism.

Fortunately, Lideweij is a sensible woman, whom, like both of your current comrades, I'd also like to have in the House of Representatives. Finally, a scientist from outside the institutional mold. The rest can stay home as far as I'm concerned, except for about four. We must also continue to listen to opponents.

Hopefully, for you personally, the change will mean a reduction in the threat of bodily harm from fascist "benefactors." That would be a small compensation, though it's nothing compared to the valuable ideas you brought to our country.
I console myself with the memory of the social scoundrels who won a few seats in parliament after 1900. They were carefully kept out of power until 1940. But in the meantime, some of their despised ideas had already been adopted by their opponents. Ideas change slowly, but they do change.

Kind regards,
Kees.

Thierry thanked me for the message and reconfirmed our friendship.
